• Thoughts on the UT Series • Crimson Country Club (Members Only)
I think I enjoyed this series more when we were in the midst of the unexplainable streaks. I forget the numbers but it was like we won about 11 in a row, then they won 4 in a row, we went unbeaten about nine in a row and then they won in ‘95 kicking off a seven year unbeaten streak. It certainly wasn’t any fun to be on the sucky end of the streaks while they were happening but there was something magical about them because it defied explanation. But starting in ‘02 we ruined it by winning only once in a row before losing the following year in 49,000 overtimes.

Predicting and projecting the possible post-season matchups

• Bowl Predictions • CBS Sports
Comment: With Texas' victory over Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State, we predict the Longhorns will meet the Crimson Tide in the BCS National Title. Texas' last national title game was the 2006 Rose Bowl where it defeated USC 41-38. USC's loss earlier in the year opened the door for the SEC champion to meet the Big champion. The SEC champion -- Georgia, Florida, Alabama or LSU -- would be in prime position with only one loss. The SEC has made its mark on the BCS title game, winning the last two (LSU in 2007 and Florida in 2006) and third in the past five seasons (LSU in 2004).
