BOL writes up a segment like this during the football season and its a good look at the ups and downs of a season. I think a great measuring stick of your talent level is how many different players make that list over the course of the season. If there is big time competition to be amongst your top ten players, you have a nice lineup of contributors. During the Spring, its easier to make the list simply because there are only four recruiting classes comprising the team instead of five. One year from now, this list could include names like Julio Jones, Tyler Love and Mark Barron. Or others. However, teams planning to win games this fall must be prepared to do so with the veterans.

• And the (Not So Much) Children Shall Lead • Crimson Country Club (Members Only)
While it was obvious that we would be over the 85 number if we added 25 new faces next August, it was therefore obvious that several of our returning guy would be ... uh .... not returning. Some names have been haphazardly thrown around (remember the 19 man “list” posted on another site as fact? I guess not) but I doubt there was much speculation tied to the following names: Jeremy Elder, Luther Davis, Zeke Knight, Prince Hall. I didn’t include Chris Lett who was an obvious candidate due to his condition but there is little doubt how much Chris could have helped us had he been healthy. Now one important fact to consider here is that only Jeremy has been lost for good. Prince, Zeke and Luther could all be back with us in the fall making this a non-event or “the blog that didn’t happen”. As a matter of fact, just to be on the safe side, let’s take a break from reading our computer monitors and pray they all return to the team. And for world peace. Might as well ask for something really important if we are sending up a line.
