The No. 2 ranked Alabama softball team took its first SEC road series on the season by downing No. 15 ranked Mississippi State 2-0, 4-2 Saturday afternoon at the MSU Softball Field. The Tide combined to bang out 17 hits while freshman Kelsi Dunne hurled 10 scoreless innings. After the day, Alabama improves to 23-3 overall and 5-2 in SEC play. MSU falls to 22-8 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

The Alabama-Kentucky baseball game is currently in a rain delay with UK leading 12-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning. The game was halted by crew chief Jack Cox at 3:43 p.m. (EST). A decision on the resumption of the game is expected by 7 p.m. (EST). The forecast in Lexington call for a 70 percent chance of rain through 8 p.m. and then a 60 percent chance of rain through midnight, changing over to snow flurries.

Alabama sophomore Aaron Fleshner finished fifth off the three-meter board at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships being held here in the James E. Martin Aquatics Center on the Auburn campus. Fleshner scored 718.70 on 12 dives, finishing less than a point out of fourth place.

What is believed to have been a tornado hit the Georgia Dome and caused damage during Alabama's overtime game against the Bulldogs in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinal on Friday night. After a delay of more than an hour, despite a last-second overtime shot that hit the rim but didn't dip in as the overtime buzzer went off, Mississippi State survived to beat Alabama 69-67.
