Alabama's six-game win streak came to an end Tuesday when No. 19 Clemson defeated the Tide's basketball team 87-61 in Coleman Coliseum. Alabama will have a chance to snap back on Friday when it hosts Chicago State at 7 p.m.

Alabama lost its third game of the season to a Top 25 opponent, and this time, the Tide didnt even compete. In a game that could be dubbed Beat-down in T-town, No. 21 Clemson played the Harlem Globetrotters to Alabamas Washington Generals in drubbing the Tide, 87-61. An early exit by an announce crowd of 9,316 had many wishing theyd stayed home to watch bowl games.
The Alabama women's basketball team (6-7) will bring in the new year with a non-conference contest against East Tennessee State. Tip-off is slated for Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 6:00 p.m. from Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide closed out the 2007 year with three-straight victories, while the Lady Bucs fell to the Georgetown Hoyas 75-52 in its last outing. Here are some notes and observations from Wednesday mornings practice session of the Under Armour/ESPN All-America game. It was chilly (40 degrees) with gusty winds in the 20-30 mph range.
The Red had an intense practice today as the team went with a fully padded session which culminated with a full scimmage that had quite a bit of contact. As has been the case, the most exciting battles took place between the receivers and defensive backs.

Burton Scott, four-star wide receiver from Prichard-Vigor, (Ala.), has been a standout on both sides of the ball during the Under Armour All-America practice sessions. Scott missed Thursdays work-out after suffering with the flu and was later hospitalized. The Alabama commitment was back on the field Friday morning and updates his status.

Colin Peek, Georgia Tech's starting tight end in 2007, has told BamaOnLine.com that he will transfer to play for the Crimson Tide.
"Iowa is recruiting me the hardest," said running back Mark Ingram. "I get about 15 letters a week from all their coaches. This senior class, like the one before it, has been a target for disappointed UA fans. There just werent enough wins to satisfy the ever demanding legion of UA followers so blame is thrown around like confetti. Well, while some seniors may or may not deserve criticism for not buying in to what Coach Saban was selling, one senior had a spectacular season and is deserving of a tribute: defensive end Wallace Gilberry.

Four Tide players recorded double-digits in points and the Alabama women's basketball team used a 13-1 run in the final 6:39 to earn a 61-51 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday afternoon from Coleman Coliseum. After the day, UA finishes its non-conference slate with a 7-8 record while SELU falls to 6-7 overall.
The 15 players on the Crimson Tide men's basketball team are proving you can have it all--a national contending basketball program and smart men who make great grades in the classroom. The team produced a 3.15 team GPA in the fall semester, led by starting forward Demetrius Jemison's perfect 4.0. Jemison is a marketing major.
