The Alabama women's basketball team fell to the No. 3 ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers 85-58 Thursday night in Coleman Coliseum. Candace Parker led all scorers with 19 points while Tierney Jenkins paced the Tide with 12 points. After the day, Alabama moves to 8-19 overall and 1-11 in SEC play. Tennessee improves to 24-2 on the season and 10-1 in league games.

On June 21 of last year, Jim Wells retired from his duties as the head baseball coach at Alabama. Memories of Wells' remarkable coaching career were spilled out across the state, but they stopped suddenly a week later - when he returned as the Crimson Tide's coach.
