You won’t see a hundred blogs from me about our baseball program but like all red blooded Americans, I like pizza, hot chicks and baseball. Even apple pie and Chevrolet. And because I like baseball and I love Alabama, then, by law, I have to love Alabama baseball. Like most fans that live four hours away from the Joe, I probably make it to one game or two throughout the season and I will go see the Tide when the play USA in Mobile in April but I am not going to sit here and tell you I know this roster or this team well enough to write a book, much less a blog about their strengths, weaknesses and their favorite colors. I don’t know. This is what I do know: in a poll last week, the most knowledgeable of SEC baseball analysts said Alabama had the worst team in the SEC West. Thus, I can write a whole blog about that little factoid.

• The ‘09 Instate Offers • Crimson Country Club (Members Only)
In 1991, Alabama signed probably the best recruiting class in its storied history. That class would go on to win 45 games in four years, a national title, an SEC Title, and appear in the SEC Title Game in 2002, 2003 and also in 2004, a season in which Alabama lost one game by one point. There is reason to believe the recruiting class signed just two weeks ago can live up to or match the standard set by that incredible group of football players. But if you truly want to reach a new level of crimson giddy, consider this: the classes Alabama signed to follow the ‘91 class were basically average groups. Alabama would not sign a real good class again until 1995, some fours later. What would happen if you followed up a group like the ‘91 group with ANOTHER group just like it? If one stellar class can produce forty five wins in four years, what would two in a row do?
