Former University of Alabama cheerleader Margaret "Meg" Ingram, 21, passed away Friday morning, February 1, at Huntsville Hospital after battling cancer. Meg, a Tide cheerleader during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 school years, passed away with her parents by her side.
DB Alonzo Lawrence commits
The Alabama Swimming and Diving teams close out the regular season on the road Saturday in a tri-meet with conference rivals South Carolina and Georgia in Columbia, S.C. The meet, which gets underway at noon ET at the Carolina Natatorium, is the Crimson Tide's last chance to get up and race before the start of the postseason.
It's a decision that effects kids for the rest of their life, where to get their education. Gifted athletes are pursued by colleges across America and enticed to attend their school with scholarships. You see, college football is a multi-million dollar business and the athletes are the pawns.

The stage is set once again for one of the greatest rivalries in college gymnastics - Alabama vs.

Coaches Predict Alabama to Win Softball Title
Alabama coach Nick Saban offered no updates on junior linebacker Ezekial Knight, saying he believed the Crimson Tide's starting outside linebacker had been released from the hospital on Thursday.
Alabama has posted three impressive scores to open the gymnastics season, but nothing the Crimson Tide has done this year measures up to Georgia's performance.
Alabama picked up its 26th commitment and the first since Dec. 17 when McGill-Toolen defensive end Glenn Harbin announced on Thursday he would sign with the Crimson Tide next week.
With a few national title candidates, like Matthew Stafford's Georgia, and a loaded league of coaches and talents, it's the SEC's world and everyone else seems to be taking up space. Here's an early look ahead at each SEC team with what needs working on and why to be excited and grouchy.

TUSCALOOSA | A 3-pointer by junior guard Brandon Hollinger with just over 2 minutes to play, and dunks by Alonzo Gee and Richard Hendrix in the final moments sealed the victory as the University of Alabama mens basketball team defeated LSU, 81-72, Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. Senior guard Mykal Riley led the Crimson Tide with 19 points, 16 of which came in the first half, and Hendrix match his point production while also grabbing 17 rebounds.

With signing day just four days away, and with three schools still on his list, Robert Quinn isn't thinking that much about making a decision yet. The 6-4, 255-pound All-American defensive end from North Charleston-Fort Dorchester, South Carolina is putting off picking a school as long as he can. But Quinn says he's about to get serious.

Such was the case at Coleman Coliseum Saturday when Alabama got its second SEC win of the year with and 81-72 triumph over LSU. An announced crowd of 15,316 was on hand, including a national football recruit.

Thanks to one of its best defensive efforts of the season, the University of Alabama basketball team grabbed its second conference victory Saturday at Coleman Coliseum, taking down the LSU Tigers 81-72. Heading into the final few days of the recruiting calendar, many believed the nation's No. 1 wide receiver Julio Jones was finished with the recruiting process but BamaOnline has learned that Jones has made some interesting plans for the last weekend of the recruiting season.
The Alabama women's basketball team (8-13, 1-5 SEC) will continue on the road for its second straight SEC contest in the state of Mississippi. It's a long way back from a 0-4 start in the SEC, but the Alabama basketball team inched in the right direction with an 81-72 win over the LSU Tigers Saturday. Both teams entered Saturday's game with 1-5 records in the SEC, each claiming Auburn as its only victim.
Alabama head coach Sarah Patterson wanted to use Friday night's meet against the top-ranked Gym Dogs as a measuring stick to see where her team stood among the nation's top programs. In the end, it was a tough lesson with a 196.625 to 196.0 loss to the three-time defending national champions.
