12.15.2007 - Fall Commencement
The Alabama women's basketball team was unable to overcome a 32-14 halftime deficit on the road against Tennessee-Chattanooga Saturday, falling to the Mocs 62-34. The Crimson Tide, winners of two of its last three games before the loss, was led by junior Camilla Blands, who had 12 points and five rebounds in 31 minutes.
Many of the Alabama Crimson Tide's top recruiting targets are in Mobile this week preparing for the Alabama vs. Mississippi All-Star Classic including such top prospects as William Green, Jerrell Harris and Julio Jones.
Alabamas football team has not had practice for a few weeks, although there has been some work since the end of regular season play. There has also been time away from football as the team completed final examinations over the past week. That academic situation is high on the list of concerns as Bama looks towards Colorado in Independence Bowl.

The University of Alabama women's basketball team (3-7) returns home after a quick single-game road trip to host instate rival Alabama A&M (1-3) on Monday, Dec. 17 at 11:30 a.m. from Coleman Coliseum. The Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game will kick-off Monday night at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, (Ala.) at 7:00 p.m. The first game took place June 18, 1988, and 18 years later it remains a very elite event. The Alabama squad is loaded with numerous college recruits led by the nation's No.1 prospect Julio Jones.

A couple of things, I am really pleased with the way our players finished up academically. This is going to be one of our better semesters. I think the spring was one of our best semesters. The new graduation rates have come out and we have some pretty impressive numbers for 2001 and 2002. We had six guys graduate on Saturday.
