Mark Gottfried and the Alabama’s men’s basketball program got the 2008 recruiting year off to a good start in June when the Tide landed one of the nation’s top small forwards in Tony Mitchell. Fog along the Olympic Golf Club's course in San Francisco delayed first round stroke play for four hours Monday at the U.S. Amateur. Only one of Bama's golfers, Mark Harrell, finished his round, shooting 74. Matt Hughes and Michael Thompson will have to finish round one Tuesday morning then play the second round Tuesday as well.

The team held a scrimmage Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium, took Sunday off and then held meetings throughout the day on Monday as they got a chance to review video of the scrimmage.
