Alabama had to come to the ballpark without its head coach Tuesday night, but the Crimson Tide and acting coach Mitch Gaspard took care of business easily at The Joe. Head coach Jim Wells was back in his home state of Louisiana with his ailing mother, but a strong pitching performance from Nathan Kilcrease carried Alabama to an 8-4 win over the Lipscomb Bisons.
Ross Wilson Named SEC Freshman of the Week TUSCALOOSA - Alabama freshman second baseman Ross Wilson was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after leading the Crimson Tide to an SEC Western Division series win over long-time rival Mississippi State over the weekend at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The Alabama women's golf team placed three golfers in the top 20 at the SEC championship in Loudon, Tenn., as the team finished in seventh place over the three-round tournament Sunday. The No. 13 Crimson Tide came into the tournament as the fifth-ranked SEC team, according to Golfweek, and head coach Mic Potter said he expected a better performance than a seventh-place finish.

The Alabama Gymnastics team worked out for just under two hours this morning here in Stegeman Coliseum on the NCAA Championships' practice day, adjusting to the equipment and the arena.

Thursday's SEC-TV is dedicated to the SEC men's and women's tennis championships, where the Ole Miss Rebels and the Georgia Bulldogs came out on top. On Sunday, the Ole Miss Rebels clinched the 2008 SEC Men's Tennis Championship at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It is the second tournament title for the Rebels, who also won the event in 1997. SEC-TV's Natalie Taylor reports on location from Fayetteville with a full recap of the men's tournament.

Tide gymnasts overcome obstacles in NCAAs
The Alabama baseball team could be without its coach for this weekend's crucial series against Auburn at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
There's more than pride on the line for this weekend's baseball chapter of the Iron Bowl, and the fans know it. The Saturday game of the Alabama-Auburn series is all but sold out, with fewer than 100 tickets remaining as of Tuesday. Student seating, which is allotted separately, is not reserved and is free with an ACTion card.
The Alabama men's golf team's performance at last weekend's SEC Championship demonstrated why the Crimson Tide has spent the year atop the collegiate rankings.
The No. 23 Crimson Tide men's tennis team will have to wait until next Tuesday to see what lies ahead for their season when the NCAA Regional brackets will be announced.
