Though the game was tied at four in the eighth inning, Alex Kubal knew it was over. The junior center fielder stepped into the batter's box with two runners on, and that was all he needed to know. "When I get runners in scoring position with the game on the line, I think the game is over," Kubal said.

BIRMINGHAM -- UAB's Mitch Kloskowski pitched a complete game, striking out five and walking just one, to lead UAB to an 8-5 win over Alabama on Wedensday night.
TUSCALOOSA -- He'll cruise to Augusta National on Friday, play a leisurely 18 holes with "Phil" -- you know him as Mickelson -- on Tuesday and may walk the fairways with champion Zack Johnson when things turn serious a week from today.
Davis, Pharr vie for lone opening on offensive line
HOOVER - Alabama head coach Jim Wells had gotten eight quality outings from his starting pitchers over the last two weeks, but that streak didn't continue on Wednesday. And the bullpen didn't fare much better. UAB roughed up three different Alabama pitchers and got a complete game from Mitch Kloskowski to knock off the Crimson Tide 8-5 at Regions Park.
There's an old sports saying that goes "the real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back." And it certainly seems that the Alabama gymnastics team is taking this to heart. Just weeks ago, the Tide traveled to California and fell apart in a series of two meets in which the team had to count two falls, marking their only team scores below 196 this season.

Weekend trip to LSU important for Alabama's hopes in West Division
With the SEC Championship on the horizon, the No. 1 ranked Alabama men's golf team is set for its last tournament of the regular season. On Saturday, the Crimson Tide will travel to Austin, Texas, where they will play in the Morris Williams Intercollegiate tournament April 7 and 8.
